What is RPE?

RPE stands for Rating of Perceived Exertion. It is a scale that is used tomeasure how hard an individual is
working during physical activity. It is based on the individual's subjective assessment of their current level of exertion, using a scale of 0 to 10 (with 0 being no exertion at all and 10 being maximal exertion). It is used to set the intensity of a workout and track progress over time.

Examples:

If one declares a set of bench press to be rpe 6 then they estimate that they could have done 4 more reps.

If one declares a set of bench press to be rpe 8 then they estimate that they could have done 2 more reps.

If one declares a set of bench press to be rpe 10 then they estimate that they could have done 0 more reps.
